Zoviduo contains two active substances: aciclovir and hydrocortisone. Aciclovir is an antiviral that helps fight the virus that causes heat. Hydrocortisone is a moderate potency steroid that reduces inflammation associated with heat.
Zoviduo cream is used to treat the first signs and symptoms (e.g. tingling, itching or redness) of herpes on the lips and skin near them to reduce the chance of progression from cold sores to blisters in adults and adolescents (12 years and older).
