This medicine belongs to a group of medicines called nasal preparations. This nasal ointment contains retinol (vitamin A), a substance with protective effect of irritated nasal mucosa.
Rinocusi Vitamine is indicated for symptomatic local relief from nasal mucosal irritation in dry nasal colds with or without scab formation in the nostrils, in adults and children over 6 years of age.
ACTION AND MECHANISM
- [VITAMINIC FACTOR], [VITAMIN A]. Retinol is a fat-soluble vitamin that intervenes in many processes of the body. It is essential for the growth, development and maintenance of epithelial tissues. Applied nasally has protective and regenerating effects of the nasal mucosa.

No specific problems are expected.
PATIENT ADVICE
ADVICE TO THE PATIENT:- After administration, a slight massage will be carried out on the nose, to favor its distribution.- It is recommended not to ring the nose after administration of the ointment, so that it remains longer in contact with the mucosa.- One of the administrations should be done at night, to favor the effects of the ointment.- If symptoms continue or worsen after 10 days of treatment , it is recommended to consult with a doctor or pharmacist.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any component of the medicine.
Pregnancy
The safety and efficacy of this medicine in pregnant women have not been evaluated, so the use of this medicine is only accepted in case of safer therapeutic alternatives, and provided that the benefits outweigh the potential risks.

Interactions
No interactions with nasally administered retinol have been reported, but it is recommended to avoid joint administration of retinol with any other medicinal product by this route.
Breast feeding
Retinol is excreted in milk, but the amount eliminated after nasal administration and possible effects on the child are unknown. It is recommended to avoid administration of this medicine or to stop breastfeeding.
Children
The safety and efficacy of nasal retinol in children under 6 years of age have not been evaluated and is therefore not recommended for use.
RULES FOR PROPER ADMINISTRATION
To administer this medicine, the tube applicator will be inserted into the nostril, slightly tightening so that a small amount of the ointment comes out. For the ointment to be evenly distributed throughout the surface of the nostril, a small massage should be performed on the outside of the nose. Once the ointment is applied to the inside of the nose, a thin layer will be administered around the nostrils. After each use, the applicator should be cleaned with a clean, damp cloth, then closed the container. After administration, it is recommended not to ring the nose, so that the ointment remains in contact with the mucosa for as long as possible. It is desirable that one of the administrations be carried out at bedtime, in order to promote the action of the ointment.
Dosage
DOSAGE:- Adults and children over 6 years, nasal: Apply a small amount to the affected area, 2-3 times a day.
ADVERSE REACTIONS RELATING TO EXCIPIENTS
- Containing hydroxytoluene butyl as an excipient may cause local skin reactions, such as [CONTACT DERMATITIS], [OCULAR IRRITATION] or [SKIN IRRITATION] in mucous membranes.
